Oct 13, 2017 If GarageBand will no longer open on your iPhone or iPad after you have updated to iOS 11, you’re not alone. Thankfully, Apple is aware of the issue and is “investigating solutions.” In the meantime, the company has put out a support document offering a workaround fix that requires turning off iCloud syncing for GarageBand on your device.
As part of the upcoming transition to 64-bit technology in macOS, GarageBand 6.0.5 won’t be compatible with future versions of macOS, starting with the recently announced macOS Catalina 10.15. With GarageBand 10 for macOS, you can open and continue to work on the projects that you created in GarageBand 6.0.5.
Update GarageBand
- Jan 18, 2017 Sign into the Mac App Store using the Apple ID you first used to purchase GarageBand. Look for GarageBand in the list of purchased applications in the App Store. If you don't see GarageBand in the list, make sure it's not hidden. See Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store for more information. Select Install to download and install.
- Jul 23, 2018 If GarageBand works, you might need to update or service your audio interface. Delete any Audio Units Extensions or Inter-App Audio apps. Create a new song, then play it. If it works, check your other songs and solo tracks to see which one caused the issue. Reset GarageBand. Go to Settings GarageBand, then tap Reset GarageBand.
